Andreas Kloppmann began developing his own take on the legendary PAF humbuckers in 2003, with the goal of designing every component—from pole screws to baseplates—to exacting tonal specifications. By 2005, he completed his first original humbucker set, the HB 58, inspired by Peter Weihe’s 1958 Les Paul and his own birth year. Built with tonal authenticity and player feedback in mind, each Kloppmann pickup is hand-assembled using carefully sourced, locally produced components to capture the soul of vintage tone.
The HB 59 set represents Kloppmann’s interpretation of the iconic 1959 PAF. Developed after playing several original 1959 Les Pauls, Andreas noticed a tonal shift from the '58s—describing the '59s as having a more direct, earthy character, perfect for blues and rock. The HB 59 captures that signature tone, delivering a rich, vintage voice reminiscent of Eric Clapton’s “Beano” tone, Gary Moore’s soulful leads, and Billy Gibbons’ famed “Pearly Gates” Les Paul. The set is also available in an LC (no cap) configuration, in either zebra or double cream bobbin styles.

Please Note:
We are a Kloppmann authorized dealer in the U.S., so we order to replenish our stock as available. Therefore, the exact pickup set you are purchasing is not photographed, and there is variance on all aged pickup sets.
All Kloppmann Pickups are Serialized, and have individual output ratings. The images shown are not representative of the exact Serial or Output of the set you are purchasing.
Because potentiometers and capacitors play a critical role in overall tone—and many stock guitars include components with widely varying specs—Kloppmann recommends pairing your pickups with a premium pre-wired harness for consistent, high-end results.
