1984 Fender Flame Elite – Frost Pink
The Altitude Summary
This is a rare 1984 Fender Master Series Flame in the ultra‑cool Frost Pink finish—a color you almost never see. The guitar is in excellent condition for its age, with only a couple of light scratches and a few dings on the body and headstock (all pictured). It plays beautifully, responsive and is well‑set up. One of the original thumbscrews for the bridge is missing, and the “F” cap on the bridge tone knob is gone, but otherwise the hardware is fully intact. The back plate has some residue from the backplate sticker that has worn off. The original hardshell case is included.
In terms of weight, this model is 8.1lb it remains comfortable—even for extended play.
Sculpted Elegance & Build Story
The Flame was Fender’s bold entry into premium, Gibson‑style territory under the Master Series umbrella. Its body is slightly larger than a Les Paul, with offset cutaways that add flair and access. Chambered with a spruce top layer over alder, the build is a thoughtfully engineered hybrid of tone and lightness. The neck is set (not bolt-on)—a rare feature for Fender—and the Flame was available in “Standard,” “Elite,” and “Ultra” trims.
Voice & Tonal Palette
Equipped with Fender’s special humbucking pickups (in many cases Schaller units on higher trims), the Flame delivers a rich, commanding voice with excellent clarity in lead and rhythm roles. Its chambering and hybrid wood choices keep the highs lively and the mids warm, while the set neck provides sustain and depth that push it closer to classic rock and blues textures.
Playability & Feel
The neck carve offers a satisfying balance between comfort and control. With only minimal fret wear, the frets still offer clean articulation and low noise. Despite the set-neck construction and chambered body, the balance is stable and the weight is manageable—making it feel more playable than one might expect from such a sculpted instrument.
Condition Notes & Imperfections

A couple of superficial scratches on the body (visible in photos)

Missing “F” cap from the bridge tone knob
These flaws are cosmetic and do not affect performance or tone. Overall, considering its 40+ years of life, it’s in wonderful condition.
