Fender's Custom Shop out-did themselves with this one. Step into the past with this stunning '62 Reissue from Fender Custom Shop. The rosewood board features classic clay dot inlays and a comfortable Jazzmaster "C" profile, while the modern 9.5" radius and medium vintage frets make it easy to switch between lead and rhythm playing styles! This guitar is brand new, with no more play on it than a couple of test runs in our shop.
The Jazzmaster is often overlooked compared to the Strats and Teles, but it offers a unique and well-designed style that sets it apart. While it may not be as iconic to playing fast licks like the Strat or Tele, iconic musicians like Nels Cline and J Mascis have proven that it can still produce amazing sounds. The Jazzmaster boasts its own brand of Fender's signature bright and clean tone, making it a must-try for any Fender enthusiast.
There is much to explore with this classic: it features a tremolo style that has been compared to an Olympic diving board for its smoothness, making it a favorite among players. The pickups provide beautiful sound, similar to that of a Strat's neck pickup. In addition, the rhythm circuit has its own volume and tone controls, giving the impression of having two sets of pickups. The unique RSD bridge adds even more versatility by introducing a touch of Tele chime and twang to this Jazzmaster.
Originally released in 1958, the Jazzmaster was a pioneering addition to the Fender guitar line. At that time, the majority of influential guitar music had yet to be created, so the needs of players were different. The Jazzmaster was not designed for shredding, but rather for creating textured, chord-based music and melodic playing.
