Central to any instrument is its tone, and the DarkRay is no exception. It features a newly developed modern 2 Band EQ preamp by Darkglass, tailored specifically for this model. The preamp presents three distinct sound modes: Clean, Alpha (distortion), and Omega (fuzz), allowing for a broad spectrum of tonal options. These modes, from pure clean to aggressive fuzz, can be finely adjusted with an onboard gain knob and blend control, ensuring the perfect balance of sound without sacrificing the low end. The selection mode is conveniently indicated by a bright LED ring and a 3-way lever switch.
The DarkRay embodies the essence of the Stingray Special, retaining its iconic features such as the neodymium humbucking pickup, roasted maple neck, ergonomically contoured body, and 22 stainless steel frets. The classic 3+1 headstock configuration remains, preserving the familiar aesthetic while introducing groundbreaking tonal capabilities.

CUSTOM DARKGLASS® CLEAN 2-BAND ACTIVE PREAMP
The DarkRay features a state-of-the-art 2 Band preamp, custom-designed by Darkglass. It boasts a remarkably clean and noise-free sound, complete with adjustable volume, gain, bass, treble, and blend controls for achieving your desired tone.
ALPHA AND OMEGA
This product features two top-rated drive circuits, Alpha (tight distortion) and Omega (fuzz), controlled by an onboard gain knob and blend control for customizable mixing without sacrificing low-end. The 3-way lever switch and illuminated LED ring indicate the bass mode.
