Overview
The Altitude Summary
Inspired by the pivotal year of 1957, this Shabat Lynx model is a true strat enthusiast's delight. The guitar boasts a remarkably light weight of 7.2 pounds and a custom Surf Green finish, achieved through Shabat's signature subtle relic'ing in nitrocellulose. It features Lollar Sixty-Four single coil pickups in the neck and middle positions, providing clear, bell-like tones, while the bridge pickup adds a quacky, crunchy intensity.
This model merges vintage aesthetics with modern functionality, including a truss rod that's accessible at the neck heel—a feature similar to Fender’s elite Stratocasters. Its hard maple neck is equipped with Dunlop 6105 nickel-silver frets and 1/4" black dot inlays. The '50s soft V neck profile, tapering from 0.88 to 0.98 inches and transitioning from a 7.25 to 9.5-inch compound radius, ensures smooth transitions up the fretboard.
This guitar captures the essence of vintage Strats with its blend of a custom color, traditional body styling, soft V neck profile, vintage-inspired pickups, and exceptionally low weight.
